FAQ's
Which areas do you cover?
I am based in Keysborough and cover all of Melbourne. I am always willing to travel further providing minimal travel costs are met – please contact me for further details.
When should I have the trial?
You can have the trial at any point before the wedding. It is best to have the trial once you have decided on your dress / wedding theme. You will be able to see the full wedding look if you have your clothes/jewellery at the trial. The trial should be conducted no later than 4 weeks before your wedding day.
What happens at the trial and how long does it last?
The trail will take approximately 1-1.5 hours for the make up and 2-2.5 hours if you want the hair trial at the same time. At the trial all the details about your wedding will be discussed such as your dress, colour scheme, flowers, jewelry etc. We will discuss what type of make up look you would like to go for and what type of make up you usually wear, if any. We will then start trying out the make up and tweak it until you are 100% confident with the outcome.
How can I secure my wedding date in your diary?
At the trial you will be required to pay the trial fees. If you then wish to book us for your wedding day we will require a 50% non refundable deposit to secure your wedding date. Please note we are unable to hold any dates without a deposit.
How can I pay?
You can pay by EFT, cash or cheque – please contact me for further details.
When should I pay the final balance?
The balance is payable 2 weeks prior to your wedding or special occasion by EFT, cash
Where will you be doing my makeup?
I come to you. It is a special day for you so you should not have to worry about where to go for your wedding day makeup. During your bridal makeup design, we will finalize the details about where I will meet you to put on your makeup. Whether it is at your home or at a hotel, I come to you.
How much time will you need on the day?
We will need approximately 2 to 2.5 hours for both hair and makeup. I will arrive at your chosen destination in plenty of time to make a prompt start. The timings of the hair / make up will have already been discussed and planned during the trial, so you will be ready in ample time.
How long does the make up last?
I use professional products and techniques to ensure your make up will last from noon till night. The only thing you may need to do is a minor touch-up such as replenishing your lipstick and gently blotting any shine from your face once in a while to ensure shine free photos.
I don’t wear much make up usually. Will my make up have to be heavy for the photos?
Your make up look will be created and designed with you in mind. If you want the natural look or a heavier glamorous look…I have an extensive range of products to cater for you. A lot of brides are not use to wearing heavy make up and this will be taken into account during the trial where we can try out different make up until you are 100 % happy with the outcome.
Whatever makeup look you decide to go for, I will make you look amazing both on and off the camera.
What products do you use?
As a professional freelance make up artist I use a range of professional products including Chanel, Lancôme, Dior, Estee Lauder, Mac, Bobbi Brown, Clinique and Kett Cosmetics amongst others. I also have a variety of professional make up palettes and make up brushes which enable me to cater for any look you wish.
When should I start a beauty regime?
You should start at least 2 - 3 months before as this will ensure your skin will be looking hydrated and fresh. As a minimum you should Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise daily, exfoliate once a week, facial mask every 1-2 weeks.
What can I do to reduce facial hair?
We offer Full face threading and waxing. We recommend you have this done 1 or 2 days prior to your trial or the wedding day.
Do you do hair styling?
I absolutely do, but not hair cutting or colouring.
Can I come to you?
If there is no other way to accommodate you, then you may come to mine for any make up/ hair services you require.
Why do I need a make up artist on my wedding day?
Here are a few reasons why people get a make up artist for their wedding day. If any of these apply to you then it’s definitely worth having a make up artist:
• You are unsure what colours to use and how best to apply the make up for the photography
• You want the make up to last all day
• You would be too nervous on the day of your wedding to apply your make up
• You would like to be pampered on the day of your wedding
What happens if I need to cancel a booking with you?
If you are cancelling a trial you will not incur any charges. If you are cancelling your wedding day Make up or Hair your deposit cannot be refunded. If you are cancelling any other appointments such as a make up / hair styling lesson then you will not incur any charges for this.
What happens if you are ill on my wedding day?
In the extremely unlikely event that I am unable to make your wedding date due to illness or other emergency, I am in contact with other equally qualified make up artists who will be able to substitute for me. They will be fully briefed on your make up and look and as I keep a record and photographs of the make up and look decided at the trial, the same look can be recreated on your wedding day.
I would like to treat someone to one of your services – do you do gift vouchers?
Yes I do. You can buy a gift card for any amount starting at $25. The gift cards are usable within 12 months from date of purchase.
Do you charge an extra fee on Sundays & public holidays?
Events that fall on public holidays incur an additional 15% charge and before 7am start.
